Fact Check – Lord Ganesha Idol in Yetigairampeta NOT vandalized
Contrary to the popular claims, the idol of Lord Ganesh at a temple in Yetigairampeta village, Golugonda mandal of Visakhapatnam district was not desecrated. The hands of the idol crumbled a few months ago due to natural wear and tear. The former priest stored the damaged hands in a cupboard within the temple premises. A priest who recently joined the temple was baffled upon seeing the hands for the first time and told a few devotees about it. Amongst them, a few people who took pictures and videos with the intention of creating a stir on social media, were arrested under Section 153A of the IPC. Superintendent of Police B. Krishna Rao personally visited the temple and investigated the issue.
